1. Should I hire End of Life RN to care for my loved one? My advice is to read this page and the FAQs. If you think we might be a good match, contact me to schedule a FREE 45-minute consultation.

2. How much do you charge? Pricing is completely transparent and is $44/hr no matter the time of day or day of the week. The only additional fee would be for travel to your location if it requires an extended drive time. This would be discussed prior to the start of care.

3. What are the minimum/maximum hours we can schedule with you? You can schedule from 2 to 10 hours per day.

4. Do you accept insurance? No.

5. What methods of payment do you accept? Cash, check, or venmo. Payment for service is due 2 weeks after the start of care.

6. How do clients afford this type of private care? Keep in mind, this care is meant for a short term, around the end of life, typically when a person has started hospice care. This may range from 1 day to 6 months. Beyond having the financial resources readily available, some clients have long term care policies that will reimburse for private home care.  Families also find it more cost effective to keep someone in their own home with the help of paid caregivers when compared to the cost of a nursing home. Another option is collecting donations for care. Often there are friends/family wanting “to do something to help”.  Donations can be used to provide hands-on care for your loved one and allow family caregivers a much needed break. This enables friends/family a tangible way to contribute to care.

7. Is it less expensive to hire a home health aide? Yes and this might be a better option for you. But you might be surprised to find how much it costs. https://pro.genworth.com/riiproweb/productinfo/pdf/131168.pdf It’s important to manage your expectations and know the care limitations of homemakers or home health aides vs a licensed RN. You should ask specific questions about medication administration especially when the client is unable to take medications on their own.
